Holistic Treatment

Holistic Addiction Recovery Program (HARP) Exclusively Designed For SRC Clients

Unlike therapy and counseling, which are types of treatment to improve your mental well-being, the coaching process addresses specific personal projects, business successes, general conditions and transitions in the client’s personal life.

Holistic addiction therapies are non-medicinal recovery methods used to complement traditional treatment modalities. Holistic recovery aims to bring the mind, body and spirit into alignment and offer a natural type of treatment. Holistic therapy usually focuses on an individual’s overall well-being while at the same time treating physical symptoms of addiction and withdrawal. Treatment centers offering holistic therapy use meditation, exercise as well as nutrition to help people overcome their addictions from substance abuse and all other types of addiction. Scottsdale Recovery Center takes Holistic Treatment a step further…

Holistic Therapy for Addiction Treatment

Holistic therapy programs feature non-medical, personalized methods of addiction recovery. Holistic therapists treat physical and mental addiction symptoms and fix emotional and nutritional imbalances. Lack of sleep, poor diet, emotional stress and anxiety are all potential obstacles that holistic therapy will help a recovering addict treat. Holistic therapy plans are flexible, catering to the needs of each individual.

Some of the Main Objectives of Holistic Therapy at Scottsdale Recovery Center Include:

-Identifying underlying causes of addiction
-Strengthening resistance to cravings
-Promoting physical fitness
-Increasing self-confidence
-Reducing the appeal of drug and alcohol use
-Types of Holistic Addiction Therapies

Holistic therapy encompasses several different aspects of healthy living, from exercise to meditation and nutrition. Some of the main therapies include:

Nutritional Therapy

A healthy body and mind is an integral aspect of addiction recovery. Helping recovering addicts and alcoholics focus on proper nutrition provides tangible healing. People in recovery can start fresh and give their bodies the nutrition they need to overcome their addiction and start living a healthy and proper lifestyle.

Exercise and Recreational Therapy

Daily exercise is very important! Daily exercise can help build a solid routine, act as a stress reliever and strengthen the body. Exercise is a very important part of many holistic treatment centers. Activities vary, but Scottsdale Recovery Center offers rock-climbing, canoeing, horseback-riding, hiking, yoga and daily trips to the gym. Depending on the season, we take clients hiking in sedona, which is merely an hour away from us.

In order to overcome addiction, recovering addicts and alcoholics must have a clear brain and mind. Guided meditation plays a very important part of holistic treatment programs across the world. Scottsdale Recovery Center also offer yoga and Tai Chi as meditative practices to help residents increase focus, clarity of mind and relaxation. *

Life and Recovery Coaching at Scottsdale Recovery Center

Life Coaching examines what’s going on right now in the client’s relationships or profession, discovering what their obstacles or challenges might be, and choosing a course of action to make their life be what they want it to be. Coaching, is a teaching, training or development process via in which an individual is supported while achieving a specific personal or professional result or goal. Occasionally, the term coaching may be applied to an informal relationship between two individuals where one has greater experience and expertise than the other; offering advice and guidance as the client goes through a learning process. This form of coaching is similar to mentoring. Life coaching draws upon a variety of tools and techniques from other disciplines such as sociology, psychology, positive adult development and career counseling, with an aim towards helping people identify and achieve personal goals. Life Coaching is a designed alliance between coach and client, where the coaching relationship continually gives all the power back to you, the client. Our coaches use a style in which they ask questions and offer opportunities that will challenge the client to find answers from within him/herself. This facilitates the learner to discover answers and new ways of being, based on their values, preferences and unique perspective. We believe that you know the answers to every question or challenge you may have in your life, even if those answers appear to be obscured, concealed or hidden inside.

Recovery Based Yoga

Scottsdale Recovery Center is a huge fan of Yoga. Not only can it bring balance to a troubled mind, but it helps increase self-awareness, enhance physical and mental stamina, purify and detoxify the body, improve strength, flexibility and stability, and discover a spiritual energy from within.

Scottsdale Recovery Based Yoga for Addiction Treatment in ArizonaScottsdale Recovery Center’s clients are able to practice yoga privately and comfortably, guided by our own professional, certified and highly experienced recovery based yoga instructors. All yoga classes are private to SRC.

Yoga and the 12 Steps Program work hand-in-hand to take you on a journey with the same destination, which is to live a good life and aspire to something greater than one’s self.

As stated in “Yoga for Wellness” by Gary Kraftsow, we are each born with certain genetically predetermined characteristics that influence our health, however we have an opportunity through changing our actions to effect great changes in our degree of wellness. He goes on to explain that this process of change begins with discipline of the body, breath and mind, known in Yoga tradition as asana practice.

It is with this beautiful practice that a means of self-awareness is discovered, which is essential for self-transformation. Often times we take clients to Sedona where the best hiking Sedona takes place. We do yoga while meditating on the Sedona Vortex.

Jacob Daffner, Recovery Based Yoga Instructor, Spiritual and Meditation Guide

Scottsdale Recovery Based Yoga for Addiction Treatment in ArizonaFrom Jacob Daffner: “Having dealt with anxiety and depression personally, Yoga has been my saving grace. I’ve learned to use the wisdom of my body, gain better control over my mind and calm my nerves and emotions. Yoga has brought me so much awareness and clarity of my body and mind and the link between the two. It has helped me to remember that creating this life is up to ME. We can’t control life but we can Look inward, Stop placing blame on outside sources, Begin to take our power and responsibility back, Focus on growth & improvement, and Practice acceptance of who we are. I am a Yoga instructor, Reiki Practitioner and Cosmic Consultant. I began my Yoga practice in 2002 and in 2009 completed my 200hr certification at Southwest Institute of Healing Arts in Tempe, AZ, received my YogaWorks certification in 2012 and in 2013, I became one of only 2 certified Naam Yoga Therapists in the state of Arizona. A newer practice on the West Coast, Naam is a Meditative practice that uses the powerful healing of breath {pranayama}, basic movement {asana}, chanting {mantra} and rhythmic movement to heal and balance the body and mind. We literally change our energy from the inside out.”
