Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)

Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)

SRC provides Medication Assisted Treatment services (MAT) to all clients if deemed appropriate by our medical providers. Medication Assisted Treatment is offered as a part of a holistic treatment plan for each client to promote abstinence from drugs, alcohol, and other substances of abuse. MAT may be continued from an outside provider, if deemed appropriate with proper documentation, or may be started at any time during treatment at SRC if medically indicated. SRC utilizes FDA approved medications for MAT and evidence-based practices to treat substance abuse and promote abstinence; this may include controlled substances as part of the MAT plan. Medical providers make a concerted effort to educate clients on the benefits of MAT and provide strong encouragement to engage in MAT to support ongoing abstinence. SRC will assist clients in coordinating continuing care, and MAT, as part of aftercare and discharge planning.

Under Dr. Gelow’s expertise and guidance, SRC provides treatment for opiate use disorders through Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT). MAT is offered as a part of a holistic treatment plan to promote abstinence from drugs, alcohol, and other substances of abuse.  MAT may be continued from an outside provider, if deemed appropriate with proper documentation, or may be started at any time during treatment at SRC if medically and clinically indicated. SRC utilizes FDA approved medications for MAT, and evidence-based practices, to treat substance abuse and promote abstinence, and may include controlled substances as part of the MAT plan.

Our medical providers make a concerted effort to educate clients on the benefits of MAT and provide strong encouragement to engage in MAT to support for ongoing abstinence especially when there is a history of treatment stays and inability to remain sober. In addition, controlled substance, and all other MAT medications, will be prescribed ordered, received, and administered as outlined within the Scottsdale Recovery Centers administration of Medication Policy. SRC will assist clients in coordinating continuing care, and MAT, as part of ongoing aftercare and discharge planning. Both Dr. Gelow and Patrice Roy hold DEA licenses in prescribing MAT medications.
