Police Assisted Addiction and Recovery Initiative
The Police Assisted Addiction and Recovery Initiative is a nonprofit organization with a mission to support the disease of addiction and prevent drug use and abuse in the first place. The Gloucester, MA Police Dept. started the addiction initiative to help other police departments implement similar programs, and to foster a dialogue around the opportunity for police departments to assist with the disease of drug addiction in their communities and offer prevention, education and treatment for those suffering with addiction. Also, the Police Assisted Addiction and Recovery Initiative offers Police Officers and other public servants working in their communities a safe, confidential and private place to heal from their own addictions. P.A.A.R.I. is made up of private citizens, philanthropists, business owners, law enforcement leaders, and prominent members of the academic community who all share the mission of helping those with substance abuse addiction. We are a proud partner of P.A.A.R.I and have helped hundreds of police officers get sober and help them overcome their Grief, Trauma and Addiction issues.
